These were salted just before serving. They were better than average nuggets. I forgot to get a photo of the actual nuggets, but I did get a photo of a magazine instead. Best fish and chip shop nuggets in Levin? So far!
The shopkeeper was not happy to take our order. It's as if she didn't want to start the fryer to cook 4 nuggets.
The coating was thin and almost cracking, however they had more flavour than most other fish and chip shops. Overall, these were good nuggets.
I don't want to eat any more nuggets. This is the fourth lot today and I'm getting sick of nuggets. Shock horror. That said, I will try to give you my objective opinion on these nuggets.
These were not good. They tasted strange, and felt slimy in parts. The coating was the best part of these nuggets. My mouth felt bad after eating these
These were nicely salted and had good flavour. We walked in there while the town parade was happening and a staff member pulled herself away from the festivities to cook the nuggets.
These had the aroma of unflavoured popcorn. The taste let these nuggets down and I feel any sauce would have made the world of difference. The mouthfeel and coating were good.
The first thing I noticed was the shape - the ball and the boot! I suspect these are of the Inghams variety and the same ones that McDonalds cook. These nuggets were good! The coating delivered a satisfying crunch and gave way to the inside of the nugget, cooked well and flavourful. Overall, these were pleasant, and some of the best in this area!
The Good: The coating was a perfect golden brown colour and was crunchy yet soft in the mouth. Nothing short of wonderful batter on these nuggets. The mouthfeel was consistent and would give any other nuggets a run for their money.
The Bad: The flavour was just okay, which is honestly not the worst problem to have.
The Ugly: I was short changed one nugget! I was only given 7 nuggets instead of 8! (I had already eaten one by the time I thought to take a photo).
Always A+ gets a B- from me.
Let me tell you these were the best fish and chip shop nuggets I've had so far. Granted, I've only been to two fish and chip shops for nuggets. Apart from being too heavily salted these were some decent nuggets. And at $0.70 each they're not too expensive.
These nuggets are uniquely bland in a way that only vegans could have thought of. These nuggets had almost no flavour and yet a strange after taste. I doused mine in sauce to make them taste like something, anything. I give these a literally-anything-else-on-the-menu/10
I opted for the \"Southern Style Chicken Bites\" and was not disappointed. These are bigger than your standard nuggets and packed with way more flavour. The coating was seasoned and cooked perfectly and delivered more flavour than any of the other nuggets I've tasted so far. The chicken on the inside had a good mouthfeel. The only let down with BP chicken bites (which are just big nuggets) was the lack of sauce, however I think that sauce might detract from the flavour overall. They're pricey, but they're good!
This is what chicken nuggets should be. The right amount of crunch on the outside and a good mouthfeel on the inside. McDonalds have chiseled these chicken chunks into the bell, the ball, the boot, and the bone and their efforts have not gone unnoticed - this only added to the enjoyment of these nuggets. The sweet and sour sauce is hands down the best sauce. I found the BBQ sauce was lackluster.
Highly recommend
These weren't great. The coating was soft and gross. The chicken inside was a weird texture and did not feel nice to eat. The BBQ sauce was decent but unfortunately they didn't have any sweet and sour sauce. The popcorn chicken, however, was good.
The nuggets weren't very warm and the flavour was lacking. The coating was as good as McDonalds
Update:
These nuggets were way warmer and nicer than my previous tasting. You've earned yourself another star, burger king.
